LeAF Studio School

Boxing

Provided by Wimborne Amateur Boxing Club and Mackenzie’s Boxing Academy

LeAF’s Boxing is a program for recognised high level boxers in Years 9 – 13 that provides students with practical experience in specialism training, alongside their academic studies for future careers within the sports industry.

We work with the Student’s current club coaches to excel the boxers as far as possible competitively but also offer Coaching opportunities and recognised Coaching qualifications for each boxer throughout their time at LeAF Studio. Although the main objective is to develop higher performance boxers, we also believe that we need to set our boxers up for a dual career. This means that we will work with our boxers to help develop them as coaches and will put them through the relevant coaching qualifications at the following ages:

  • 14yrs Boxing Tutor
  • 15yrs – Boxing Leader Course
  • 17yrs – BOX Instructor Course
  • 17yrs – Level 1 England Boxing Coach

Students will be offered opportunities to represent LeAF Studio at regular competitive events and will be arranging the following visits and experiences for our students in the upcoming months:

  • Sheffield EIS
  • England Talent Pathway
  • Supporting National Championship Staff
  • Pro Training Camps

Further to this, there will also be opportunities to complete

  • England Boxing First Aid Course
  • Safeguard Training
  • Mental Health Awareness Course

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Any Boxer wanting to join the academy must be affiliated to an Amateur Boxing Club and be actively competing. All boxers must want to pursue a career in the sport of boxing and thus be aiming ultimately for a place on the England Talent Pathway.
