Study Pathways

Most internal and external students transition into LEAF Studio Sixth Form with a clear specialism in either Sport or Performing Arts. Students can study vocational BTECs or a combination of both BTEC and A-level qualifications – all entirely dependent on their own career pathways.

If you don’t receive the entry requirements, we will always have discussions surrounding your application. We have retake programmes in place for both L2/GCSE Maths and English.

We acknowledge that some applicants may find English and Maths challenging but please do not let this discourage you from applying to us. We welcome applicants of all academic abilities.

The option to retake GCSE Maths or English is available but it is preferred these are achieved throughout Year 11. We also have the provision to offer Functional Skills in English/Maths at GCSE level.

Successful applicants who are yet to pass a qualification in English and/or Maths prior to enrolment will be required to study one or both alongside their qualification.

PATHWAY 1 – Specialism Only

3 A-level equivalent BTEC course in either Performing Arts or Sport
Technical training in Performing Arts or Sport

This pathway is suitable for those students who wish to study and train purely for their specialism.

PATHWAY 2- Specialism with A-level(s)

2 A-level equivalent BTEC course in either Performing Arts or Sport
Technical training in Performing Arts or Sport
1 academic A-level subject

This pathway is suitable for those students who wish to study and train for a dual career.

It may be possible for academically able students to complete the BTEC Extended Diploma and 1 or 2 A-levels meaning a total of 4 or 5 A-levels at the end of the two years at LS6. This is at the discretion of Specialism Leads and Senior Leaders.
